Sacramento Cannabis Delivery Company Raided
Two state agencies raided the cannabis delivery operation off Power Inn Road last week, alleging it was operating without a permit and failing to remit required sales taxes to the state. Ever since California legalized the sale of Marijuana and Cannabis products, they have been extremely interested in making sure that taxes are paid in full and paid promptly.
The Bureau of Cannabis Control said in a press release Tuesday that it and the state Department of Consumer Affairs’ Cannabis Enforcement Unit seized cannabis flower, concentrate and edibles from The Cannaisseur Club. The raid resulted from a complaint submitted to the Bureau of Cannabis Control. The Sacramento Police Department assisted with serving the search warrant and provided law enforcement to conduct the warrant service, search, raid and seizure of inventory.
The raid occurred about a week before The Cannaisseur Club was scheduled to receive a hearing before the city’s Planning and Design Commission on its application for a conditional use permit to operate a delivery business at 7925 Butte Ave. in southeast Sacramento. The city has issued only a handful of operating permits to cannabis businesses, but has allowed some to operate while their applications are processed. Those businesses, however, must also have a permit from the state.
Due to the search and violations, the hearing before the City’s Planning and Design Commission was canceled.
